Funding
Options for Our Services
There are many funding options available for you
to pay for your services. Most of the funding options are ‘government
backed’ such as Attendance Allowance, disability living
allowance and Carer’s living allowance. There is also the
option of Independent Living Funds (ILF), which are cash payments
to disabled people across the UK that promote the choice of independent
living in the community rather than in residential care.
The main funding
option relevant to the services we provide is direct payments
provided by your local authority through social services departments.
Direct payments are made by local authorities to people receiving
social care services. The council will provide funding for you
to manage your own care.
To receive Direct payments you
need to be assessed by the local authority and fulfil their eligibility
criteria .You also need to be able to manage the payments (even
if you need help to do this).
Direct Payments will allow you to pay
for your own private home care arrangements and related activities
such as day care activities . Direct Payments give you greater flexibility
and control over the type of care you receive. By receiving money
direct, you get the means to purchase the support you feel you need
and choose your own care provider. You are not restricted to the
councils own preferred care providers.
This gives you control of choosing
a provider that is flexible and able to meet your needs. Do you
know there are not many care providers willing or have capacity
to simply escort you to places such as the church or on day outs?
CCS aims to support you maintain your hobbies and lifestyle.
